While some reports claim that Apple will change titanium for aluminum in its most premium models, a well-known Chinese leaker, “Instant Digital”, assures that this will not happen.
The iPhone 17 Pro will not leave titanium
According to recent rumors, the idea that the iPhone 17 Pro abandons titanium does not make sense and contradicts the approach that Apple has maintained in recent years to differentiate its high-end devices.
Since the arrival of the iPhone 15 Pro, titanium has become an emblem of the Pro line. Apple presented it as a great evolution compared to stainless steel, highlighting its lightness and resistance. In this context, the rumor that the most exclusive models of the iPhone 17 would return to aluminum has left many users and analysts baffled.
Apparently, according to the leaks, Apple will implement a hybrid design with aluminum in the upper rear part and glass in the lower part to facilitate wireless charging. This supposed change would be the first time that a Pro model uses aluminum since the separation of the standard and Pro lines in the iPhone.
However, “Instant Digital” denies this theory with solid arguments. According to his publication, the use of premium materials such as surgical steel or titanium has been key to differentiating the Pro line, so returning to aluminum would be, in his words, an incomprehensible move that could complicate Apple’s marketing strategy.
Unexpected changes at Apple and uncertain future
Although these statements make a lot of sense and are framed within logic, Apple is no stranger to abandoning features that were revolutionary at the time. An iconic example was 3DTouchintroduced with the iPhone 6s in 2015 as a technology that promised to transform interaction with the device.
