Are you in front of your TV and wandering around looking for a film to watch alone, with family or friends? No need to exhaust yourself, we’ve gone through the program to find 3 cool films to enjoy to end the week in style.
Black Adam (TF1, 9:10 p.m.)
According to the synopsis proposed by Warner Bros:
Nearly 5,000 years after being gifted with the almighty powers of the Egyptian gods – and imprisoned just as quickly – Black Adam is freed from his earthly tomb, ready to unleash his unique form of justice on the modern world.
Without being a masterpiece, this film starring the well-known antihero of the DC universe hits the mark. Dwayne Johnson clearly doesn’t deserve an Oscar for his performance, but he did honorably.
Merry Christmas (TF1 Séries-Films, 9:05 p.m.)
It is December 24, 1914, on Christmas Eve, French, Scottish and German soldiers face each other in cruel and murderous trench warfare. They end up laying down their arms and fraternizing.
You must see this moving film by Guillaume Canet, in particular for its beautiful (true) story but also for its impressive cast: Diane Kruger, Guillaume Canet, Gary Lewis, Dany Boon, Alex Ferns, Steven Robertson, Robin Laing, Ian Richardson, or again Lucas Belvaux, Bernard Le Coq, and Michel Serrault.
The First Star (W9, 9:10 p.m.)
As France 2 Cinéma explains in its synopsis:
Jean-Gabriel, married and father of three children, works odd jobs and spends his time at the local PMU bar. One day, to please his daughter, he quickly promises the whole family to take them on a skiing vacation. Only problem: this time, if he doesn’t keep his promise, his wife leaves him. He will have to show limitless imagination to achieve this…
Lucien Jean-Baptiste succeeds in making us smile and moving us on multiple occasions in this production where he partly recounts his childhood memories.
That’s all for this week. Note, if these three films are not to your taste, that there will be other feature films this Sunday evening on TNT, and in particular The Whirlwind of Life (France 2, 9:10 p.m.), The hand on the collar (Arte, 9 p.m.), and San Andreas (TF1, 11:30 p.m.). You can also catch up on last week’s gems in replay by rereading our previous article here.
