The Apple Watch They are one of the most beautiful watches available today, especially if we talk about smartwatches, where we can buy, for little money, straps of different styles, which offers an immense range of possibilities to wear it both when doing sports and for go to a wedding

However, this article has a problem, and that is its autonomysomething that although the first weeks of use may be more than enough, with the passage of time, and its degradation, those 18 hours that Apple promises in its features, begin to decrease noticeably, until it becomes something unbearable.

Apple Watch and its battery problems

If we look at what Apple shows us in the details of each version, we can find some differences, although almost always very similar, since they all have a duration (speaking of the Series) of 18 hours. In the case of the Apple Watch Series 10, we can see the following:

All-day battery life is calculated based on 18 hours of usage: 300 time checks, 90 notifications, 15 minutes of app use, and a 60-minute workout with Apple Watch music playing via Bluetooth. The Apple Watch Series 10 (GPS) was connected to an iPhone via Bluetooth throughout the 18-hour test.

If we look closely, the data is somewhat absurd, like the 300 checks of the time, since supposedly we should talk about the “Always active” mode, so the expense of checking the time, if we do not have the gesture of turning the wrist, would be infinite. Therefore, we would be seeing how 100% of the battery would go away after receiving 90 notifications and using it for 15 minutes. Added to this, we have a 60-minute workout with music, which, although it is something interesting, is not at all suitable for those who practice certain sports, or simply go out for a route through the mountains, having rivals with up to 24 hours of continuous autonomy with GPS active, and not 60 minutes.

This is something very fair for most people, but it can help. What happens is that Apple Watches, like other devices, have a battery degradationwhich means that after one or two years, this is between 85% and 90%, that is, about 2 hours less autonomy compared to the 18 hours.

Restore Apple Watch

In my case, my Series 8 works well, however, I do not have LTE, nor do I use it for training, therefore, it holds up because it hardly receives any work, however, if I want to go to the gym and use it while measuring my HR and other data, it can’t last the day, and I end up coming home without a battery, so I use it off much more than on, since I later have to put it on charge and I end up sleeping without it too.

And you, what experience do you have with your Apple Watch? Do you really think that Apple has to do something to improve this point? We have had watches with the same autonomy for a decade. I think it’s time for them to release something different.
