Philips Hue is doing like everyone else and equipping itself with artificial intelligence for its ecosystem. This year, an AI assistant will be deployed in the app to help users choose lighting. We also note the new partnership with LG and additional features for home security.
AI enters the Philips Hue ecosystem
Philips Hue, the world leader in smart lighting, has announcement on January 7, 2025 a series of innovations integrating artificial intelligence (AI) to transform the user experience in lighting, entertainment and home security.
The new Philips Hue application includes a generative AI assistant allowing you to create personalized lighting ambiances based on mood, occasion or style. Users can enter or speak commands to generate the desired lighting, with feedback features for continuous improvement. This innovation marks the beginning of a more intelligent and intuitive home experience.
• The AI assistant can generate tailor-made lighting scenarios based on user preferences. Simply describe the desired atmosphere, such as a relaxing evening, a party with friends, or a romantic atmosphere.
• The lighting suggestions are adapted to the colors, intensity, and even dynamics of the lights according to the needs expressed.
• Users can interact with the assistant via voice commands or by writing their wishes in the app.
• For example, a simple command like “create a warm ambiance for a dinner party” instantly triggers appropriate lighting.
• The assistant learns from past interactions to better understand tastes and anticipate needs.
• Over time, it offers increasingly precise adjustments and recommendations.
Hue Secure
Philips Hue Secure now offers advanced features to enhance home security. Audible detection of smoke alarms helps send instant alerts in the event of an emergency, while automatically activating navigation lighting.
Users also benefit from iOS widgets and voice controls, providing direct access to live video feeds from cameras and the ability to program system settings through compatible devices.
Additionally, compatibility is expanded to stream camera feeds to devices like Amazon Alexa and Google Nest Hub. A new 3 meter USB-C cable is also available, providing increased flexibility for camera placement.
LG new partner
The Philips Hue Sync TV app is now available for LG TVs equipped with webOS24+, enabling dynamic lighting synchronization with everything from streaming apps to gaming consoles.
This app supports formats such as Dolby Vision and 8K resolution, providing an unparalleled immersive light experience. As with Samsung, it will be chargeable (€130). Available in the coming weeks.
