Phoenix 2, the famous shooter from Firi Games, has just received a major 7.0 update, bringing a ton of content. The new version introduces an all-new expanded campaign, customizable player tags, and full gamepad support, improving accessibility and customization. Not forgetting support for iOS 18 game mode.
Rediscover Phoenix 2!
A huge content update is here! This update adds a brand new campaign with story missions to explore space and familiarize new players with the game.
The new Campaign mode offers a new way to experience this shoot ’em up high quality, allowing players to progress at their own pace, unlike daily missions. Additionally, VIP members can now customize their leaderboard appearance with custom tags for better bragging rights.
For those looking for finer control, the update includes full controller support, even extending to iOS 18’s Game Mode for smoother, more responsive gameplay. This mode reduces Bluetooth latency, ideal for controllers and AirPods, but also redirects computing power for the current game. Enough to enjoy Phoenix II at 120 frames per second on “Pro” iPhones, whatever happens.
The user interface has also been refreshed, with new wave progress indicators and a timer for speedrunning enthusiasts.
Finally, seasoned players are also being honored with the addition of a veteran indicator on the Pilot screen for those who have been playing for over a year, in recognition of their dedication.
Always on top
After eight years of presence on the App Store and the Play Storeand over five million downloads and a 4.7/5 rating, Phoenix 2 continues to thrive, regularly appearing in the “Top 10 Classic Games” and as a “Game of the Day”. And it is not this new update that will reverse the trend, quite the contrary. Be careful, Phoenix 2 is quite tough, which may annoy some players.
