Launched at the end of October 2024, Pokémon Pocket continues its expansion with the arrival of a new expansion called “The Fabulous Island”. This update, available since December 17, 2024, is the first extension of the flagship application. After the success of “Genetic Power”, players can now collect new cards, with Mew as an iconic figure.
86 new trading cards
The “Fabulous Island” expansion brings a breath of fresh air to the world of Pokémon Pocket with the introduction of 86 new cards. The main set has 68 cards, ranging from common to the most prestigious EX cards. The most passionate collectors will be able to go in search of the 18 secret cards, real gems of this new collection.
Among these rare cards, players will discover 6 Rare Illustration cards featuring iconic Pokémon like Noadkoko, Majaspic, or even Aquali. The expansion also offers 8 Full Art cards, 5 of which are dedicated to legendary Pokémon and 3 to Trainers. The lucky ones will be able to get their hands on the two Alternative Rare cards of Ptéra EX and Mew EX.
The pinnacle of rarity is reached with the introduction of an Immersive Rare card from Celebi EX and a Gold Rare card from Mew EX.
A redesigned rewards system
“The Fabulous Island” doesn’t just add new cards. The extension introduces a new mission system, rewarding players who complete their collection. Green Shop Tickets, exclusive to this series, allow you to unlock themed accessories inspired by Mew and the jungle atmosphere of the island.
Fight fans are not left out. Two new solo challenges are appearing, reserved for experienced trainers. These Hard and Expert level battles focus on Grass-type Pokémon. Victory guarantees substantial rewards, including Booster Hourglasses and Glow Powders.
The special (and free) event to celebrate the launch
To mark the occasion, Pokémon Pocket is setting up a special event coinciding with the end-of-year holidays. From December 17 to 20, 2024, players can collect up to 36 Hourglass boosters for free. As a reminder, virtual currency helps reduce the waiting time between opening boosters.
The distribution takes place over three consecutive days, with 12 booster Hourglasses offered daily. These rewards can be used on any expansion in the game, providing valuable flexibility to players.
An optimized user interface
The arrival of “L’Île Fabuleuse” is accompanied by improvements to the interface. The home screen offers a clear choice between the boosters of the new expansion and those of “Gene Power”. The Miracle Pickaxe also incorporates the content of “The Fabulous Island”, increasing the chances of obtaining rare cards thanks to a smaller pool of cards. This extension is therefore the first of what we hope will be a significant number, knowing that the pace should be sustained.
