After generating interest in February, Elon Musk officially confirms the upcoming arrival of a new messaging application, called Xmail. Unsurprisingly, this new service promises to outperform the others. See you in 2025.
A new service
Elon Musk, always looking for new challenges, is preparing the launch of Xmail, an alternative to Gmail. Last February, he responded to a user on X who asked: “When will Xmail arrive?” To which Musk publicly responded: “It happens.” Ten months later, it’s official, Xmail is in preparation.

Xmail aims to compete with Gmail, iCloud, Outlook and other email services. After transforming Twitter into “X, the application to do everything”, Elon Musk is now tackling the electronic messaging market with Xmail. The project promises a clean inbox, more reminiscent of an instant messenger than a traditional inbox.
True to form, Musk seeks to differentiate himself. It aims to create an email box devoid of superfluous features, focused exclusively on its main function: sending and receiving emails. Unlike its competitors, it is likely that Xmail will allow sending large attachments, providing greater flexibility to users.
However, it is still difficult to determine whether Xmail will be a dedicated application or simply a service integrated into the X application. To attract hundreds of millions of users, it will be crucial to offer a standalone and above all free application. X subscribers will likely benefit from additional exclusive features.
