Samsung is already preparing its next flagships since, traditionally, the new Galaxy S are released in the first quarter. And regarding the new Galaxy S25 series, many rumors are already circulating on the web. One of its rumors mentions the release date. And according to this, it is possible that the new models of Samsung’s Galaxy S25 series will be available from the beginning of January.
The Galaxy S25 from January 5?
In an article published this week, our colleagues at Android Police relay a user of the social network of a survey written in Vietnamese which would ask people’s opinions on the promotional offers that Samsung should offer at the launch of the S25. And this survey would also indicate that respondents will receive a 10% discount on January 5, which could therefore be the release date of the Galaxy S25 and its variants.
But for the moment, caution remains in order, since this is not an official announcement. In any case, it would be a very advanced launch, compared to Samsung’s traditional schedule. As a reminder, the Galaxy S24 was launched on January 31. And the Galaxy S23 was launched on February 17, 2023. If this rumor is true, Samsung should start teasing its new series in a few weeks.
It’s possible that this decision to bring forward the Galaxy S25 launch is linked to changes Google plans to make to the way it updates the Android operating system. Next year, the company will release two new versions of the OS. And one of these new versions will be available from the second quarter.

This year, Qualcomm presented its Snapdragon 8 Elite chip which, thanks to its Oryon core, offers very high performance. This chip will equip a good part of the new high-end smartphones of 2025 and according to rumors, all models of the Galaxy S25 series could be equipped with it. Engraved in 3 nm, the Snapdrahon 8 Elite has a CPU that is 45% more efficient in single core and multi-core performance, and also benefits from a 40% improvement in the GPU for video games.

Otherwise, rumors are also circulating about a “Slim” version of the Galaxy S25, which would have a thinner design, while offering a powerful camera. However, Samsung may not launch this model at the same time as other models in the Galaxy S25 series.
