When you have a Tesla, you also have a superb mobile application, permanently connected to your car. It is possible to launch remote actions such as ventilation, locking/unlocking, checking the location, etc. The application is ultra-efficient and very complete. However, Tesla wants to go even further, the next step would be a watchOS application to communicate directly with your vehicle!

Tesla innovates and prepares to launch a watchOS application

Last week, Tesla rolled out a new update to its app on the Apple App Store. Users were able to see a very nice new feature which was eagerly awaited by the community: the addition of commands in the iOS 18 control center. From now on, users can benefit from shortcuts from their control center without having to search the application and open it. Of course, it’s nothing fancy, but it has a practical and quick side that we all appreciate as geeks.

In addition to the additions of commands in the Control Center, Tesla developers have added some fixes to improve the user experience and enjoy better stability during use. Are these really the only new things? Yes and no…

Concept of a Tesla application on watchOS

Officially, Tesla hasn’t added anything juicy aside from shortcuts in the control center, however, something is brewing behind the scenes. Leaker Aaron Perris has made a surprising discovery in the code of the latest version of the Tesla app.

Elon Musk’s company is developing an application for the Apple Watch. According to the indiscretion, the first functionality that would be available would consist of giving access to locking/unlocking the vehicle directly from the Apple Watch. For the moment, this functionality only exists on third-party applications which have filled the gap for several years. However, the disadvantage is that the majority of third-party applications require payment when downloading the app or an in-app purchase to be able to access this functionality from your wrist.

We don’t yet know what else the Tesla app will bring to Apple Watch, but if we use our imagination, the company could offer temperature management by turning the Digital Crown, charging indication remaining, the location of the vehicle in real time or even the starting of the Tesla.

The Tesla app on watchOS will soon become a reality, however, the code does not specify the launch date. It’s likely that the developers are still ironing out the final details on the app.
