Apple prepares to renew one of its most curious and useful accessories, the Airtag. According to the latest rumors, the second generation could see the light next to the iPhone 17 next September 9. Although at first glance the device would maintain the same design as the current one, the internal improvements seem to be focused on making the tracking more precise, safer and also more practical on a day -to -day basis. That is, a version 2. of the current one.
The most striking novelty would be the incorporation of a Second generation ultra wideband. This component would allow to locate objects with up to three times more reach than the original model, which would turn Airtag 2 into an even more effective tool for not losing sight of suitcases, keys or backpacks. To this would be added a redesigned speakerdesigned to be more resistant to improper manipulation attempts. Apple seeks to reinforce security and prevent the device from being easily silenced in inappropriate cases.
Another interesting detail is in the battery notifications. Until now, the current AirTag only warns when the level is low, without more data, but with the new version an additional alert would be added for when the energy is at a critical point, that is, we will not have to change it at the time of the notice, for fear that it ends at any time, but there will be a double signal. Despite these improvements, everything indicates that Apple will maintain the replaceable button battery system, discarding a rechargeable battery, which already carry unofficial alternatives.

In summary, the Airtag 2 would arrive with small changes that can make a difference in the experience of use, and getting discouraging the previous one, after several years since its launch.
