Although no Apple fan forgets Steve Jobs, the truth is that Tim Cook has been the previous CEO for longer and one of the creators of the brand. We all remember, however, the years pass, and now we can say that the current leader of the company is the longest he has had.
It was on August 24, 2011 the day Steve Jobs, for health reasons, resigned from his position, and began that of Cook. Little more than a month later, Jobs died of the cancer he had been fighting for years, and Tim Cook was left alone before the company. Today, 14 years later, it's still there.
Tim Cook: Apple's longest ceo
Today, August 1, 2025, Tim Cook has overcome Steve Jobs himself in CEO time. It seems crazy to say it, but it has already spent a day more than Jobs in office, which marks a quite symbolic moment for the history of the company. Jobs will always be Apple's iconic figure, the visionary, but the truth is that Cook has been leading the company for a longer time than many imagine, and the company is not that they have less, although many believe that with Jobs it would be better, but that it has become the most valued in the world, at least in quotation.
Since he took command in 2011, Cook has led Apple on a very different path than his predecessor, more orderly, more focused on business, less explosive perhaps … but very effective. Under his leadership, Apple has launched new products, has created its own chips and has multiplied its value as a company. Although there are those who think, as we said, that that creative spark that Jobs had, the truth is that Apple has continued to grow without stopping, so nothing can be reproached.
Therefore, although Cook is not so charismatic or so media, he has managed to maintain the course of a company that everyone observes with magnifying glass. And although there is not openly talk about a possible successor, it is clear that sooner or later there will be a transition, especially because of the age, so they may not have many years in office, at least to the rhythm of now, since it should not be easy to take a company like this without wear.
And you, did you meet Steve Jobs? Do you think if I continue in office, Apple would have grown more? Would there be the pro vision? A folding iPhone? The truth is that it is uncertain, but as we will never know, we will stay with all the good that Tim Cook has done, and we hope that it will continue to surprise us and leave the apple brand at the height of what Steve Jobs would have liked. Leave us a comment with your opinion.
Be that as it may, Cook has already left a mark. We will see how much more continues, but its legacy in Apple is already history, like more or less.
