As every year, the Apple Watch takes out a new model of its “series”, something common as with the iPhone and other brand devices, which they have, by habit, launch the following version, although, on many occasions, it does not have big changes.
This is what happened to series 11, or at least what the rumors say, since we will not have a more powerful smartwatch, or with a different design, so It will be practically a series 10with some new change or tool that can justify its launch, such as the health meters we expect.
The series of series 11 disappoints
The rumor that circulates since August 13, 2025 suggests that the expected Apple Watch Series 11, together with Ultra 3 and SE 3, will incorporate a new system in package (sip) called S11. But here comes the surprise and that is that the heart of the chip, the T8310 architecture, will be practically the same as that used in recent S9 and S10. In other words, forget a great speed improvement. This is what an internal Apple code has revealed, discovered by mistake and published by Macrumors.
This is not strange in Apple's watches line, since the S6, S7 and S8 chips share architecture, as well as the S9 and S10. The S10, specifically, already offered a very decent performance, including a dual-core processor “sawtooth”, four-core neuronal motor, second-generation ultra wideband support and even 64 GB of storageall preserved in the hypothetical S11.
So what will it really change? Most likely, the improvements are in less visible forms, perhaps a thinner chip design to release space, greater energy efficiency, optimized wireless connectivity or slight thermal improvements. Everything points to what The really relevant jump The S12 chip will do it in 2026.
The internal names (codenames) of the devices still in development were also leaked: N227 and N228 for series 11 (GPS and Cellular), N230 for Ultra 3, N237 and N238 for series 12 (2026), and N240 for Ultra 4.
In summary, the Apple Watch 2025 would opt for continuity and optimization instead of a performance change. The S11 would seem more an intelligent adjustment than a technological leap. We hope that, at least, there are new tools or sensors, although the fact that it has the same power as the previous one, indirectly, which is because it is not needed anymore, so we may not see large internal changes either.
And you, do you think a change in Apple Watch models was already necessary, or do they serve you as they are? The truth is that from series 8, we have barely seen notable differences, and there are many years, so we would like a revolution in this device, although for what is seen, it will not be this time, and we will have to wait. What do you think?
