Samsung is preparing the launch of its next high-end smartphones. And if, at the moment, we do not yet know the release date of the Galaxy S25 series, rumors suggest that Samsung should unveil these new models as early as this January. In the meantime, fans of the Korean brand are wondering which processor will equip the Galaxy S25, S25 Plus and S25 Ultra.

Samsung’s next flagships could benefit from a significant performance improvement if they use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite. In addition to the fact that this chip is engraved in 3 nm, it also benefits from Qualcomm’s Oryon technology, which boosts performance. “It features the world’s fastest mobile processor, with peak speeds of 4.32 GHz. Additionally, it improves CPU performance by 45%, Adreno GPU by 40%, up to 45% faster NPU, and overall power savings of up to 27%. we read on the Qualcomm website.

And the good news is that some sources suggest that the “international” version of the Galaxy S25 would indeed use the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip. But that’s not all: it is even possible that Samsung has collaborated with Qualcomm to develop an improved version of the Snapdragon 8 Elite for its high-end smartphones.

An “overclocked” chip?

In an article published this week, the Android Central site discusses leaked benchmarks that suggest that Samsung could use an “overclocked” version of the Snapdragon 8 Elite to achieve higher performance than the base model. In essence, the processor used by Samsung could have a higher clock speed than the 4.32 GHz claimed by Qualcomm.

As usual, caution remains in order, since this is not official information. However, it is worth noting that this would not be the first time that Samsung has collaborated with Qualcomm to offer an improved processor on its smartphones. The Galaxy S23, launching in 2023, uses, for example, an improved version of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 gen 2 chip.
