It is a now well-established tradition that delights gamers. Every year as the end-of-year holidays approach, the Epic Games Store treats its users by offering free games. Here is what is planned for this Christmas 2024.
Collect those first games
First of all, until this Thursday, December 12, you can to recover without spending a single cent, LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga as well as Bus Simulator 21 Next Stop. Once these titles are in your library, you will have the opportunity to play them “for life” whenever you want.
A mystery game on December 12
The festivities continue this Thursday with a mystery game which will be available for free. Currently, no one knows what it is, but some rumors indicate that it could be Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. We only have a few more days to wait to verify this information.
Gifts every day to celebrate Christmas?
Assuming that the Epic Games Store reproduces the same pattern as last year, you will have to wait an additional week until December 19 for the advent calendar to be launched. Thus, no less than 17 free games, one each day, could be offered each day, which would take us until the start of the school year in January.
It is of course impossible to know which games will be chosen. This is actually a good thing, because it creates a sort of daily ritual during the end-of-year holidays and sometimes brings nice surprises.
Last year, Epic offered titles such as Destiny 2: Legacy Collection, Fallout 3, Ghostwire: Tokyo, The Outer Worlds, or even Human Resource Machine, Melvor Idle and Saint Row. It was also quite impressive in 2022: Horizon Chase Turbo, Sable, Wolfenstein: The New Order, Metro: Last Light Redux, or even Dishonored – Definitive Edition.
We also often hear that the store literally broke the Internet by offering some super popular triple A’s, like The Witcher III and GTA V. Who knows if they won’t succeed in making an impact again this year.
Steam sales on December 19
If the Epic Games Store creates the event, its great rival, Steam, will not be inactive. Like every year, it will offer its traditional Christmas sales. However, you will have to show a little patience, since this promotional period will start on December 19 and end on January 2.
