Well, these first data are already beginning to arrive, and the truth is that being the Pro version the one that would have gained the most compared to the previous model, has not given a good figure in these first tests, so we are going to take a look at the results and see if it is really worth it, or if another model would be better.
iPhone 16 battery test
There are quite a few tech channels and media outlets that have already started running these tests, however, we’ll stick with Mrwhosetheboss as he has the largest number of devices, including the S24 Ultra, so the comparison is more reliable.
In this test we can see how The 4 iPhone 16 models face off launched this year, along with the 15 Pro Max and the normal 15 from last year, which although we do not know the status of their battery, we understand that they are only used for testing and will continue to be in perfect condition, although if not, we would still be talking about worse results for the iPhone 16 Pro.
As we can see in the image, after 8 hours of testing, the iPhone 16 Pro has 1% battery left, while the 16 Plus, or even the normal 16, have even more. If we compare it with the Pro Max, we see how the difference rises to 20%, which means that it not only has 1/5 more capacity, but it is also reflected in use, since many people could think that also having a larger screen, that difference in mAh would not be clearly seen in autonomy, but we can see that it is.
This leaves the Pro version in a pretty bad place.since it would be the worst of the 4 this year, and that, added to the starting price, and that it stays for another year at 128 GB of storage, could be a very big handicap for many, and I, at least, if I decided on one, would go for the Pro Max, or failing that any of the low-end range, since both the 16 and the Plus have greater autonomy, or at least, very similar.
In short, although the iPhone 16 Pro has a greater capacity than the lower range, it does not show it in the first tests, so if this point is something important for you when purchasing a model, you already know it, and you may have to go for the Max if you are looking for a better battery, although the Plus, for the price, is not far behind either, and could be a great choice.
