Mistral is today considered the French champion of artificial intelligence. In addition to the fact that this startup has already raised hundreds of millions of dollars, it also offers an alternative to ChatGPT, called Le Chat, which relies on its own artificial intelligence models. And this week, Mistral is announcing a series of very interesting new features.
The Cat is able to find information on the internet
First of all, like ChatGPT, Le Chat is now capable of searching the internet, and is no longer limited to training data. When the AI uses information from websites, it mentions its sources in the answers and provides quick access.
The Canvas is another interesting new feature. In essence, it is a creative space where the user can interact with Mistral’s AI models. “(…) it allows you to directly modify, edit or transform the content thanks to the powerful reasoning capabilities of LLMs”explains the startup.
And thanks to a new multimodal AI model, Le Chat also allows you to include large documents, as well as images, in prompts. “Just attach documents to your chat bar to get information about any document: graphs, tables, diagrams, text, formulas, equations… in fact, the entire document,” indicates Mistral on this subject.
Free features
Thanks to a collaboration with Black Forest Labs, Le Chat also includes a functionality that allows images to be generated from text descriptions. In addition, Mistral offers a system that allows certain workflows to be “codified” in the form of agents. The idea is to avoid repetitive tasks of reusing the same prompt several times, thanks to this system.
But the most interesting thing is that Mistral has decided to offer all these new features for free, in beta version. In any case, these are essential features for Le Chat to remain competitive compared to ChatGPT and American giants like Google.
