Samsung has just launched a new tab called Benefits within the Galaxy Store, its application store for Galaxy devices. The idea is simple: complete small daily activities within the app—such as exploring featured apps or games—to accumulate virtual coins called “Gems”which can then be redeemed for discount coupons or digital gift cards for Samsung.com.
In addition to the points system, Samsung has incorporated sfree orteos with daily cadenceweekly and monthly. The prizes are not filler: the monthly draw has as its grand prize a Galaxy S26 Ultrathe flagship that the company has just presented alongside the S26 and S26 Plus. The other giveaways offer devices like the Galaxy A17 5G or the Galaxy Tab A11 Plus tablet. A gamification mechanic for you to open the Galaxy Store even if you normally have no reason to do so.
An interesting initiative that, for now, remains in the US
The problem is obvious: the program is available only in the United States and only for Galaxy device owners. Samsung has not given any clue as to whether it plans to expand it to other regions, which leaves out millions of users in Europe and Latin America who are also part of the Galaxy ecosystem.
The logic behind the initiative is clear. Samsung has been trying to promote its own store against Google Play for some time, especially after the launch of the S26 seriesand keeping users within its ecosystem is a strategic priority. These types of incentives can work well for that. The geographical limit, however, greatly reduces the real impact.
If Samsung intends to turn the Galaxy Store into a truly competitive platform on a global scale, these types of programs will have to arrive sooner or later to the rest of the world. The question is whether it will happen within a reasonable time frame or if, like so many other features, users outside the US will end up waiting months – or years – to see it.
