Apple is planning to change the rules of the game this year. In fact, they already changed their marketing strategy with the launch of the iPhone 16e in mid-February, offering a phone with much more balanced hardware than the iPhone SE range. But there will also be big changes in the iPhone 17 series.

One of the most interesting changes coming to the iPhone 17 lineup has to do with the phone’s design. Apple will change the design of the rear camera module on the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Air models while maintaining the same essence of the iPhone 16 in the entry-level iPhone 17.

Thus, there will be three different iPhone 17 designs to suit the preferences of every type of consumer. But Apple’s new lineup of phones will incorporate many more new features, especially in the case of the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max.

All the new features we know about Apple’s iPhone 17 Pro models

The iPhone 17 line could have multiple designs

Apple will incorporate a wider bar for the camera module of its iPhone 17 Pro, occupying the entire top area and allowing the phone to have three horizontally oriented cameras. But beyond the drastic design changes the iPhone 17 line will face and the inevitable comparisons with the Google Pixel range, the new iPhone 17 Pro in 2025 will arrive with all these changes.

  • Aluminum chassis: Rumors suggest the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max will have an aluminum chassis instead of aerospace-grade titanium. This will make the phones lighter but less durable. Their backs are said to be made of aluminum and glass.
  • Camera design: Its rear camera will continue to feature a triple-lens module. However, the module will be wider, occupying a larger area, and the cameras will be arranged horizontally.
  • More durable display: Apple could incorporate a display with a higher-quality anti-reflective coating that would improve its scratch resistance.
  • Bigger battery: Everything seems to indicate that the iPhone 17 Pro models will have a larger battery capacity. The phones’ design could be slightly thicker than the current models.
  • A19 Pro chip: Following the hardware of the latest generations of iPhone, the iPhone 17 Pro models are expected to include an A19 Pro chip manufactured by TSMC using a 3-nanometer process.
  • Apple-designed Wi-Fi 7 chip: In addition to the C1 chip that powers the iPhone 16e for 5G connectivity, Apple may also include its own chip to support Wi-Fi 7 in the iPhone 17 Pro.
  • Front Camera: Rumors indicate that the front camera on all iPhone 17 models will have a 24MP sensor.
  • Telephoto camera: Apple will increase the quality of this camera’s sensor to 48 MP.
  • More RAM: Another of the great new features of the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max is that they will incorporate up to 12 GB of RAM.
  • Cooling System: Apple will use a new cooling system to prevent overheating based on a vapor chamber that will improve thermal performance.

Will the iPhone 17 Pro be very expensive?

The latest generation of iPhones priced the “Pro Max” models at €1,469. This year, significant improvements will be introduced, which could impact their price. However, it’s important to remember that aerospace-grade titanium may not be used in their manufacture, so costs could be slightly lower in this regard.

Apple is also reducing its dependence on other manufacturers like Broadcom and Qualcomm by introducing its own chips. So, in theory, the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max should cost between €1,200 and €1,500. We’ll see what happens next!
