Although we have been with the Pro Max version of the iPhonethis could change by 2026. On occasions, we have seen how the larger iPhone had some difference with the Pro, and not only in the screen size, but in a better camera, larger storage, etc.
This would have been equaled this year, where the differences can only be observed in the screen and battery, due to a question of size, something that Apple wants to change again, with a Max model that is more powerful and the best of the entire range.
iPhone Ultra for 2026? Possible features
Everything indicates that Apple is preparing to make a move next year. According to 9to5Mac, the company could launch a new model called iPhone Ultraa version that would go beyond the “Pro Max” and that would mark a new stage for the iPhone. The strongest rumor is that this model would be the first foldable iPhone, something that Apple has been preparing for a long time, as well as us talking about it.
Changing the name makes sense. “Max” already sounds powerful, but if Apple is really going to release an iPhone that folds and displays a huge screen, “Ultra” is a better fit. It is a name that sounds big, ambitious, just what Apple usually looks for when it wants us to feel that its new product is one step further, and, above all, that it is different, since we associate the name Pro Max with something else.
Furthermore, Apple has never followed everyone else's rules. While Samsung, Motorola and company are betting on names like “Fold” or “Flip”Apple usually prefers to create its own language. Calling it “iPhone Ultra” would not just be a matter of marketing, but a way of saying: “this is something different”, which is very well associated with its motto of “Think Different”.
And yes, the price would also change, quite a bit. Rumors speak of a device that could surpass the 2,000 euros. Although if anyone can charge that for a phone without the public being shocked, it's Apple. The name “Ultra” gives it that air of a special product, almost technological luxury, and many would be willing to pay for it (although we will have to see how people react).
In the end, what's coming looks like more than a simple update. The iPhone Ultra would not be just another model with more power or a larger screen, but a clear sign that Apple wants to start a new stageone in which design, innovation and status go hand in hand.
This raises doubts about the Pro Max model, since, as we saw this year, the launch of the Air made the Plus disappear, however, the foldable would not have the same features or audience as the Pro Max, so Apple may surprise us by adding a new model, or simply remove the current top of the range, which could anger many, but give more meaning to the new Ultra, getting many Max customers to switch to try it.
And you, what do you think of all this? Do you really think that a folding Ultra is going to work, or is it not an idea that still enters your head as feasible today? Leave us a comment with your opinion.
