Apple has taken the first step to modernize its iPhone SE line, beginning to acquire the new OLED screens that will mount this new version of the entry-level terminal, which will arrive in stores in 2025. This improvement represents a qualitative leap for Apple’s economical device, which until now used cheaper but lower quality LCD screens.

One of the advantages of these OLED screens is that they are capable of offering more vivid colors and much greater contrast, bringing the iPhone SE closer to the standards of its older brothers. We tell you everything about the iPhone SE screen.

iPhone SE with new design

The company has trusted BOE and other Chinese manufacturers to supply these OLED screens, confirming rumors that Apple is seeking to improve the quality of its low-mid-range devices without skyrocketing its price. Although more details of this agreement are not yet known, expectations for the new iPhone SE are increasingly higher and Apple engineers are working to bring a brutal terminal at a much lower price than the rest of the iPhones.

Rumors also suggest that the fourth generation iPhone SE will adopt the design of the iPhone 14, which we can see in a bigger screen6.1 inches, abandoning the 4.7 inches of the current model. In addition, it would include a space to house the Face ID system, something that was not present in previous versions of this economical model.

On the other hand, Apple would also eliminate the traditional home button and, with it, Touch ID, closing the circle of this technology on iPhones “forever.”

Another of the great novelties expected in the next iPhone SE is the incorporation of Apple Intelligence, the artificial intelligence of the Californian company. To support this new functionality, the device would have 8GB of RAM, a notable improvement in performance compared to previous generations.

OLED screen and other advances

In addition to the OLED screens, the fourth generation iPhone SE would also include the USB-C portfollowing the trend that Apple has implemented in its most recent models and complying with the new European regulations. This change will not only make connectivity and charging easier, but will also unify the standard between Apple devices and other gadgets on the market.

iPhone 16

The next iPhone SE could incorporate the famous Action Buttona customizable feature first introduced on the iPhone 15 Pro, that allows you to assign quick actions, such as activating the camera or muting the device. According to the analyst Mark Gurmanthe new iPhone SE will be launched in early 2025, probably in March or April.

With a major redesign and hardware improvements, this model will close the gap between the SE range and premium devices. Although the price has not yet been confirmed, the iPhone SE is expected to remain an affordable option with advanced technologies, positioning it as one of the launches most anticipated of the year. Apple aims to consolidate its leadership in the mid-range segment.
