MachineGames and Bethesda Softworks (publisher of the somewhat mixed Starfield) are preparing to rekindle the flame of adventure with their latest production: Indiana Jones and the Ancient Circle. A video game necessarily action/adventure oriented, with very attractive visuals, fifteen years after the last video game adaptation of the adventures of the famous archaeologist. Only here, the configurations recommended by Bethesda are truly mind-blowing and would almost overshadow a certain Flight Simulator 2024already very resource intensive.

Technical specifications that do not take half measures

The minimum configurations required to run the game are already relatively high. You will need at least an Intel Core i7-10700K processor clocked at 3.8 GHz or an AMD Ryzen 5 3600, coupled with an NVIDIA RTX 2060 Super graphics card or equivalent. On the RAM side, Bethesda recommends 16 GB, nothing really surprising for a game in 2024, as well as an SSD to enjoy it in 1080p in good conditions (60 fps), with all settings adjusted to the lowest.

Notable point: hardware ray tracing is mandatoryautomatically excluding the oldest GPUs such as the NVIDIA 10xx series or AMDs prior to the Radeon RX 6000.

An escalation of performance for an optimal experience

For a 1440p experience at high graphics settings, Bethesda’s recommended specs leave no room for approximation : an Intel Core i7-12700K processor clocked at 3.6 GHz or its equivalent AMD Ryzen 7 7700 at 3.8 GHz will be required. On the GPU side, you will need at least an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Ti with 12 GB of video memory or an AMD Radeon RX 7700 XT. The RAM requirement doubles compared to the minimum configuration to reach 32 GB.

Adventurers aspiring to explore ancient temples in 4K with Ultra graphics will need to arm themselves an even more imposing technical arsenal. At the top of this hardware pyramid sits the Intel Core i7-13900K processor at 3.0 GHz or the AMD Ryzen 7 7900X clocked at 4.7 GHz. The graphics part is based on an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 with its 16 GB of VRAM or an AMD Radeon RX 7900 XT and its generous 20 GB of video memory. Outch!

If your PC is holding up, prepare the 120 GB needed in storage, since Indiana Jones and the Ancient Circle releases December 9. It will of course also be available on the Xbox Series, then in spring 2025 on PlayStation 5. Let’s hope that the launch is a little more successful than that of Starfield and that the game lives up to this cult saga. Indeed, the last game featuring Indy, Indiana Jones and the Scepter of Kingsreleased in 2009, was frankly forgettable.

  • Indiana Jones and the Circle old requires very high PC configurations, with mandatory hardware ray tracing.
  • For an optimal 4K Ultra experience, a latest generation processor and an RTX 4080 or equivalent are required.
  • The game is released on December 9 for PC and Xbox Series, with a PlayStation 5 version planned for spring 2025.
