A few days ago we were talking about new WhatsApp app for Apple Watchhowever, it was not yet official, and only a few could test its functions. Apparently, everything has gone as expected, and Meta, after many years, has released it for everyone.

It is something similar to what we saw with the iPad, who did not have a official application of this messaging app, at least until this year, where it also came out. Today we are going to see everything related to it, and how to have it on your Apple watches.

How to have WhatsApp on an Apple Watch

To activate WhatsApp on your Apple Watch, You will only have to download, on the iPhone, the latest version of the appand like any other compatible one, it will be added to your watch almost instantly, since we will only have to wait for the Apple Watch to also install it, which usually takes a couple of minutes, as long as it has battery power and connected to the iPhone.

These are all the features that the WhatsApp website itself tells us that you can do with the new app:

  • Read full messages: Now you can view entire WhatsApp conversations, even long texts, right from your watch. Ideal for following the thread without taking your iPhone out of your pocket.
  • More chat history: When you open a chat, a larger part of the history is displayed, allowing you to remember the context of the conversation without having to scroll as much.
  • Call notifications: When someone calls you, Apple Watch shows you who it is, so you can instantly decide whether to answer or leave it for later.
  • Voice messages: Now you can quickly record and send voice memos from your watch, perfect for when you're busy or just prefer to talk instead of typing.
  • Reactions with emojis: Send quick responses with emojis to the messages you receive, a practical and fun way to react without typing a word.
  • Better multimedia experience: Images and stickers look sharper and clearer on the Apple Watch screen, making viewing photos or memes much more enjoyable.

Furthermore, according to Meta, this is just the beginning, and although we have had to wait a decade to have this app on our watches, from now on it will continue to be updated with new functions that will make the experience of using an Apple Watch to reply to messages, much betternot depending so much on the iPhone, although, currently, it is not possible for it to be independent, and just like on the rest of the platforms, they will not let us use WhatsApp with the same number if it is not synchronized with the primary device, so we will not be able to go alone with the Apple Watch, if the iPhone runs out of battery, for example.

And you, have you already tried this app? Do you find it really useful, or will you continue using your iPhone to respond? Leave us a comment with your opinion, and with everything bad and good that you find in it.
