It is possible that, when traveling, especially by plane, where we have to leave our luggage far from us, we are cautious and acquire a AirTag to keep track of the suitcaseand thus be able to recover it in case the airline loses it.

This is common, but it depends on us, at least until now, since 36 airlines have agreed to be able to find that luggage thanks to the AirTag they carry inside, as they will collaborate with the customer to recover it as soon as possible.

Which airlines will locate your suitcase with AirTag

If you usually travel by plane, this can come in handy. Increasingly Airlines allow using the location of an AirTag to help find a suitcase when it is lost or gets stuck in an airport. It's not magic nor does it prevent them from losing it, but at least everything stops being so blind.

The idea is simple: you put an AirTag in your suitcase and, if it doesn't appear, from your iPhone you can share its location with the airline. They see on the map where it is and can move around with a little more sense, instead of giving you vague answers for days.

Not all companies do it yet, but the list is already quite long and there are big names. These are some of the airlines that already accept using AirTag location to help you with luggage, although we hope more will be added soon:

Checking an iPhone on a plane

The list continues to grow, but with these you already cover a good part of the most common international flights, which are the most dangerous, since, if you get lost within the same country, it is much easier to recover, but if that happens internationally, things change. Of course, it depends on the airport and the staff, it is not automatic or instantaneous, so we cannot expect miracles either.

In any case, carrying an AirTag in your suitcase is starting to make a lot more sense than before. Not only do you know where it is, but now you can also show it to the airline and avoid that “nobody knows anything” feeling. With this information they will be able to recover it more quickly and deliver it to you at your destination. Previously, days could pass or you would never even know where it was.

And you, do you think it is a good measure? Has it ever happened to you? Carrying an AirTag is key, not only to know if the suitcase has landed with you, but also, in this case, to easily recover it if, for some reason, it did not get on the same plane. Leave us a comment if this has ever happened to you, and if an AirTag or other locator helped you find it. In principle, they do not specify that it works with other brands, so it would be good to purchase the original if you are going to travel by plane, just in case.
