The Samsung Galaxy S26 FE already has a model number. He SM-S741U has appeared on Geekbench with 8 GB of RAM and Android 17which would make it one of the first phones to hit the market with Google's next operating system preinstalled. The leak comes a few days after confirming that the device is in development, although Samsung still has not made any official comment.

Under the hood, the chip is the Exynos 2500a ten-core processor that we already saw in the Galaxy Z Flip 7. It is above the Exynos 2400 of the S25 FEbut quite far from the 2nm Exynos 2600 that equips the S26 high-end. Nothing that we have not seen before in the Fan Edition: a step above the previous year, with a calculated distance from the premium models.

Solvent performance, without threatening the flagships

In Geekbench obtains 2,426 points in single-core and 8,004 in multi-corea noticeable improvement compared to the S25 FE but deliberately contained. Samsung does not want its mid-range to be comparable to its own flagships, and the numbers reflect it.

It is expected to hit the market sometime between the third and fourth quarter of 2026. By then, the Galaxy S25 FE will have dropped in price, so the decision of whether to wait or not is more difficult than it seems. Although starting with Android 17 as standard is an argument that is not easy to ignore.

The underlying question is whether it makes sense for Samsung continue maintaining the Fan Edition line when the price gap with its own flagships narrows year after year.
