Just a few years ago, foldable phones seemed more like a device from a science fiction movie than a tangible reality, but, look where we are, we’ve been living with smartphones with flexible screens for several years now, from all brands… except Apple.
Screens that bend, bodies that adapt to our lifestyle, designs that merge aesthetics with functionality and adapted layers of customization are what define these devices that have earned their place in the market, some with better weapons than others to the point that it is no longer about innovating, but about perfecting a formula that increasingly wins over more users.
In fact, foldable phones have now ceased to be niche products and have become a consolidated trend, thanks to manufacturers launching more affordable models that cost less than any other high-end model. And, as expected, brands like Samsung, Google, Motorola, Oppo, and Xiaomi are not only competing to offer the best design, but also to integrate the most powerful processors, top-level cameras, high-resolution screens, and, ultimately, the best technology in foldable format.
In these brands’ catalogs, we find what we consider to be the five best foldable phones of the moment, which stand out not only for their innovative design but also for their performance, battery life, and photography capabilities.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6: The King Reigns
Samsung continues to lead the foldable market, and the Galaxy Z Fold6 is proof of that. This model maintains the book formula it has perfected over several generations, with a 7.6-inch 120Hz OLED internal display that offers a tablet-like experience. The 6.3-inch 120Hz OLED external display facilitates more classic use without having to unfold the device.

Inside, the powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor ensures top-notch performance, making the phone an ideal beast for both productivity and games of all kinds and demands. The photography section is also very complete, with a 50 MP main camera with OIS, a 10 MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom, a 12 MP ultra-wide angle, and both internal and external selfie cameras.
The 4,400mAh battery is as expected, but it’s not as amazing as most foldable phones. And it’s 25W fast charging lags behind some competitors, despite still being efficient.
In addition, it has IP48 water and dust resistance, a significant improvement for its durability.
Pixel 9 Pro Fold: Photography Power
Google is making a strong entry into the foldable segment with the Pixel 9 Pro Fold, a device that excels in photography thanks to its 48 MP main camera with OIS and a 10.8 MP 5x telephoto lens, ideal for long-distance captures. It’s a 10.5 MP ultra-wide angle and two selfie cameras (internal and external, both 10 MP ) complete an outstanding photographic experience, as is often the case with the brand’s phones.

The internal 8-inch 2076p OLED display offers spectacular visual quality, while the 6.3-inch 1080p cover screen is perfect for everyday use. Everything runs on the Tensor G4 processor, which guarantees fluidity and a pure, well-optimized Android experience, although it is not as powerful as some of the other models on this list.
Its 4650mAh battery offers good battery life, and while the 21W wired and 7.5W wireless charging aren’t speed-leading, the system’s efficient power consumption makes up for it.
It also has IPX8 water resistance, making it more durable. Unfortunately, the brand hasn’t yet decided to bring it to Spain.
Motorola Razr Plus 2024: Style and performance in a compact form factor
Motorola is opting for a clamshell design with the Razr Plus 2024, combining elegance, practicality, and power. This foldable model stands out for its 6.9-inch internal OLED display with Full HD+ resolution and a 165Hz refresh rate, one of the largest in this segment. Its external 4-inch OLED display, also at 165Hz, allows you to perform many tasks without opening the device.

The Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 processor handles performance, while the camera setup is impressive: a dual 50MP sensor (main and 5x telephoto) and a powerful 32MP front camera for selfies. A combination that places it among the best in the industry in its format.
The 4,000mAh battery is adequate for its size, but the 45W fast charging and 15W wireless charging make it one of the fastest charging devices, although battery life isn’t its strong suit. It also has IPX8 certification, just like the Google model.
We hope the brand brings it to Spain sooner rather than later, but if you can’t wait, you can turn to import stores.
Oppo Find N5: large, powerful, and versatile
The Oppo Find N5 is a true beast in foldable form. It’s 8.12-inch 2248p OLED internal display offers an unparalleled immersive experience, accompanied by a 6.62-inch external display, also at 120Hz. The balance between the two is excellent, allowing for comfortable use both unfolded and closed.

In terms of power, the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor guarantees fluidity and efficiency on par with this year’s best high-end phones, but the best part is its 5,600 mAh battery, one of the largest in foldable phones. And the 80W wired and 50W wireless fast charging is class-leading, allowing the device to be fully charged in less than an hour.
The camera system also shines with a triple setup: 50 MP main, 50 MP 3x telephoto, and 8 MP ultra-wide .It also includes 8 MP cameras on both the internal and external screens, ideal for video calls or quick selfies.
Its IPX8/IPX9 resistance goes a step further and makes it one of the most robust against accidents.
Xiaomi Mix Flip: maximum power and elegance
Xiaomi has entered the foldable market with a bang with its Mix Flip, which not only boasts a sleek design but also top-notch specs. The 4.01-inch external display with a 1392 x 1208 resolution, 3000 nits brightness, and 120Hz refresh rate allows for excellent usability without having to open the phone. Meanwhile, the 6.86-inch internal display offers adaptive 1-120Hz and maintains the same image quality.

Inside, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 is paired with 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB of UFS 4.0 storage, ensuring top-of-the-range performance. The 4,780mAh battery with 67W HyperCharge fast charging is another strong point.
The photography section includes a dual 50 MP rear camera (main and floating telephoto lens) and a 32 MP internal camera, ideal for video calls and selfies. It also includes stereo speakers, Wi-Fi 7, USB-C, and dual-SIM 5G connectivity, all under the new HyperOS operating system.
