Very recently, one of the best smartphones we’ve seen in 2025 was released: the OPPO Find X8 Ultra, which has our mouths watering with its incredible specifications. Rumors about its possible global launch began to circulate immediately before its launch. But, as of today, we know nothing.

A few weeks before the phone was officially unveiled, many media outlets were predicting that it would hit the market in March 2025, following the Xiaomi 15 Ultra. However, since then, official information and leaks have been clarifying the situation. As of today, with April now over, the truth is that nothing has changed: the Find X8 Ultra hasn’t left the Asian market, and everything points to it never leaving.

Despite its impressive spec sheet, it seems that the Find X8 Ultra will remain, like the Find X7, exclusively in Asia. Zhou Yibao, product manager of the Find series, denied a global launch of the phone when he confirmed April as the official launch date, and today, we remain the same.

A shame, because it is very good.

The device, however, does not go unnoticed. With a modern design, flat frames, and a prominent camera module, the OPPO Find X8 Ultra makes a strong case with fully configurable physical buttons, including one on the bottom right edge to control the camera as if it were a professional compact camera.

On a technical level, the Find X8 Ultra is enormous. It features a 1.07 billion color QHD+ AMOLED display with support for Dolby Vision, HDR Vivid, and HDR10+. At its heart is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 “Elite,” accompanied by up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 1TB of UFS 4.1 storage. The 6,100mAh battery with silicon-carbon technology charges at 100W wired, 50W wireless, and up to 10W reverse charging.

The photographic system, its great strength, is professional-grade: it has four 50 MP sensors, led by a 1” Sony LYTIA 900, two periscopic telephoto lenses, and an ultra-wide angle lens signed by Samsung, all calibrated by Hasselblad.

Is there hope?

Well, the truth is that we were among those who thought OPPO would no longer launch flagship phones outside its home country, but finally last year, we witnessed the arrival in Spain of the Find X8 Pro, which has been distributed globally. This is what leaves us with a glimmer of hope and makes us doubt whether the Ultra model will be completely exclusive to China or if it will reach some markets, beyond Asian ones like Singapore, as the Find N5 did.

With summer on the horizon, the only thing we know is that, as of today, it is not sold in our country, nor in Europe, and in the US, making it impossible for the firm to compete head-to-head with other flagships from Samsung, Xiaomi, or Apple. So, for now, whoever wants to get their hands on a Find X8 Ultra will have to import it, while the rest of the world is still waiting for a movement that, as of today, seems like it will not come. Of course, it comes with a Chinese ROM without Google Play pre-installed, requiring manual installation of Google services, and there is no global version or official warranty outside of China; this means that it becomes a handicap for those who want to enjoy this mobile outside the borders of the Chinese country.
