The iPhone 17 is just around the corner and the leaks have not taken to show what could be one of Apple's most important redesign in recent years. This time, it is not randomly released rumors, but physical models that allow us to get a rather accurate idea of how the new generation of iPhone will look.

A video recently posted by the Appleth Canal has revealed the models of the iPhone 17 in Dummies (models), comparing them directly with the iPhone 16. and the differences are notable, especially with the iPhone 17 Air as the protagonist.

Video of the iPhone 17 Air

As can be seen in the video, which we leave next, this new ultra thin version of the iPhone could reach a thickness of only 5.5 or 5.6 mmwhich would mean a drastic reduction compared to 8.25 mm of the iPhone 16 Pro. To put it into perspective, we are talking about a finer device than most modern smartphones, which would make it not only the thinnest iPhone in history, but also in one of the lightest and most stylized mobiles in the market.

This extreme thinness also involves some design changes that we do not usually see, like a USB-C port It is no longer centered, but rather displaced towards the rear of the chassis, as well as a small number of “holes” for speakers. Everything indicates that Apple has had to make certain sacrifices at the hardware level to achieve that small thickness.

Another of the great novelties that show these models is the new rear module for the cameras, in the form of a horizontal bar, in the models iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max. This redesign breaks with the traditional arrangement of floating lenses in the upper left corner, now betting on a horizontal strip that covers almost the entire width of the phone. Although the models do not show a Unibody glass and metal design, as previously rumored, to allow functions such as the inverse wireless load, they do show a clear intention on the part of Apple from continuing to differentiate its highest ranges at the visual level. They look more premium.

The iPhone will change completely

Although these are fictitious units manufactured based on filtered schemes and renders (digitized concepts), all models seen so far coincide with each other in terms of design. This gives some weight to the possibility that we are facing quite faithful representations of the final product that Apple will present in September. If confirmed, the iPhone 17 It could mark a turning point in Apple's design line, moving away from the conservative aesthetics of the latest generations and betting on a much more risky image.

Although it remains to be seen what functions will accompany this aesthetic change and if these redesign will affect autonomy, cooling or resistance of the terminal, everything seems to indicate that Apple wants to fall in love again through a groundbreaking design, as the iPhone X.

Is this the generation that revolutionizes the design of the iPhone? Everything points to yes. And if these models are well aimed, prepare to see the most surprising iPhone in years.
