Apparently, many users in the Reddit community would be reporting battery problems on their iPhone 16which, supposedly, should carry the best one of these models has ever had, however, it seems that is not the case, and for many people it barely lasts half a day.
This is not a general problem, and others are happy with them, although of course, for those affected, a solution is expected, since it is not nice to buy a phone for more than 1,000 euros, and have to go with the cable at all the sites due to their autonomy, which leaves you stranded without having used it excessively.
Battery problems on iPhone 16
Apparently the problem does not come from iOS 18or at least it is not exclusive to the operating system, since many older phones like the iPhone 15 do not suffer from this, however, Reddit users are quite disappointed, with comments like the following, which explain the problem well:
I’m having horrible battery life with my new 16 Pro Max. I upgraded from a 15 Pro Max – updated to iOS 18 and 99% battery health when I sold it. With Apple quoting a better battery life spec for the 16, I was excited to see how much more runtime I’d get. The answer? I now get 50-60% time between charges compared to what I got with my 1 year old 15 Pro Max. Really disappointing. All settings are the same, including background refresh disabled globally, maximum screen refresh set to 60Hz, and data locked to 4G (because for my use I see absolutely no difference in how my phone performs when I set all those settings, so you might as well configure them for optimal battery life). I received my 16PM on launch day, so it’s now 19 days old; any early days indexing and other background setup stuff should really be over by now.
Yes, I have the 16 pro and the battery life drops to almost 60% from 100% in the middle of the day, without heavy use. It definitely needs to be fixed, I should have stuck with my 15 pro!
Therefore, it seems that users with the same use that they gave to the iPhone 15 are suffering absurd drains in 16which, as we already mentioned, would have greater autonomy, as well as greater battery health, so it should not only last longer, but the difference should be noticeable, much less be even worse.
For now Apple has not said anything, and we will see if it solves it, since everything points to a software problem, since if it were a hardware problem, they would be the ones who would have the problem, since they would have to replace all the affected terminals, and it seems which are not few, so if you have one like this, keep an eye on the news. As soon as we know more, we will return to tell you. Let’s hope it’s good news and that you can take advantage of this very interesting model.
