Apparently, the second beta of iOS 26it brought hidden more things that Apple usually wants to show, but necessary to test their manufacturing models, since they also have to endure all the novelties and verify that they work correctly before their departure.
Among these data, we have seen a screen resolution never used beforeand that does not coincide with the normal versions, or with the PRO, so that it offers us a clue to which model it would correspond, which, precisely, is the one that announced, last year, the Apple Ming-Chi Kuo analyst.
Dimensions of the iPhone 17 Air?
MacWorld discovered a version of the iOS clown fish wallpaper with a resolution of 420 × 912 at 3X scale, which translates into 1260 x 2736 pixels. Although this resolution does not correspond to that of any current iPhone model, it resembles which is expected for the iPhone 17 Air.
In addition, as we said previously, last year, Apple Ming-Chi Kuo analyst indicated that the new outer model of iPhone 17 would have a 6.6 -inch screen With a resolution close to 1260 x 2740 pixels, which coincides quite a lot with what is observed in the beta version.
The new background would be adapted to all models, however, it has already been prepared, in turn, so that it is seen correctly in this resolution, testing with the betas of iOS 26, and giving us to understand that, logically, there will be a model that exactly uses that format.
Therefore, the iPhone 17 Air seems to be a mixture between current sizes, being larger than a standard version, but not reaching the dimensions of the PRO. In addition, it will have a Ultrafine chassis about 5.5 mmand a battery that, in a way, worries me, because it cannot be really great, and this could be the negative point of the model, which was expected even larger, and that possibly has not been done because of this.
Among what we do believe it will have, the New Modem C1 which already incorporated the iPhone 16E, as well as a unique rear camera, which also simulates this year's economic version. That is, we may have a 16E but more size, and finer, giving everyone's options, according to tastes and preferences.
It seems that Apple wants to get a bit of the mold with this iPhone 17 Air. It will not be the most powerful, nor the smallest, but it may be the most comfortable for day to day. Light, fine and with an intermediate size that many may like. The idea of having only one camera sounds strange, but makes sense if you think about it as a simpler model, without so many pretensions. Even so, it comes with interesting developments such as Modem C1 and a resolution that we had not seen before. They may not want to sell it as a revolutionary, but this model looks like talking. And surely, like more than we believe.
