Apple Intelligence, Cupertino's company's commitment to integrate Artificial Intelligence Functions Advanced in its devices, it has generated opinions of all kinds since it was announced almost a year ago at the WWDC of 2024 and after its slow launch. However, despite criticism and initial skepticism, iPhone users seem to change their minds, and not only that: they are willing to pay for it.

A new study by Morgan Stanley reveals a fact that will surprise more than one. The majority of users with access to Apple Intelligence have not only tried it, but they consider reasonable to pay for their functions.

Pay for Apple Intelligence? I wouldn't do it

According to this survey, conducted in March to 3,300 people in the United States, a total of 450 of the respondents had an iPhone 15 Pro or iPhone 16 compatible with Apple Intelligence. And the result has been clear: More than 80 % of users With access they have used it in the last six months. This data makes even more relevance if we consider that, currently, this artificial intelligence suite is in a preliminary stage with respect to what giants such as OpenAi or Google offer. Even so, Apple seems to have touched a sensitive fiber in its users, which especially value integration with the operating system, privacy and fluid experience it offers.

But the most striking is how much they would be willing to pay. The average price that users would accept to disburse monthly for Apple Intelligence amounts to $ 9.11a considerable increase with respect to the $ 8.17 registered in a similar survey conducted in September 2024. 17 % of respondents said they were comfortable by paying between $ 5 and $ 9.99, 30 % between 10 and 14.99, and a surprising 22 % would be willing to pay more than $ 15 per month for these functions. All this for a technology that, for the moment, Apple continues to offer for free.

People want a folding iPhone

It is evident that artificial intelligence is fashionable and there is more and more interest in this technology, which is framed within a context in which consumers are increasingly looking for devices that adapt to their lifestyle in a way, and in this sense, AI can make a difference. Not only does it respond to commands, but also anticipate needs, summarize information, help write texts or even interpret and generate images. Although for now there is no payment model implemented, the results of this survey could push Apple to seriously consider a subscription system with exclusive functions, as already done with Icloud+ or Apple Music, among others.

folding iPhone

As if that were not enough, the survey also states that 40 % of respondents say they would update their device if Apple launched a finer or folding model. Among them, 30 % are specially interested in a thinner iPhone, and 24 % prefer the folding option, something interesting with the iPhone 17 Air and Apple's first folding.

As we see, although Apple has taken to join the artificial intelligence career, the approach it is adopting seems to be the taste of users.
