I am sure you have ever seen a mobile phone which turns on the flash in intermittent mode when you receive a call or notification, thus notifying the owner of it without having to have the volume activated, being more visual and easier to detect.

However, this is not something specific to a specific brand, or something that can only be done on Android, since the same option exists on iPhone, and it is very easy to activate, through the native configuration of the same phone, so there will be no need for external applications or strange tricks.

How to activate the flash in iPhone notifications

If you have an iPhone, you will have noticed that this phone does not have a notification LED, like many other brands do, so there will be no way to know if we have a message or they are calling us if we do not look at the screen itself or the sound it emits.

However, there is a way to do something similar, thanks to the iPhone flashlight or flashlightsince this can act as that notification LED, turning on and off intermittently to indicate that, for example, we are receiving a call, even though the phone is silent, being an easier way to find out, without having to increase the volume.

We will find this in the accessibility section, because it is something designed, above all, for people with hearing problems, since they would not be able to know that they are being called if they do not have the mobile phone attached to their body, to notice the vibration. However, it is something that we can all use, even if we do not have any health problems.

To activate it you will only have to do the following:

  • Go to Settings > Accessibility > Audio & Visuals, then turn on Flashing LED Alerts.

In addition, you will find two other boxes, where you can check if you want it to also notify with this method when it is silent and/or when it is unlocked, being able to do so always, or only in certain situations. I, for example, do not see it necessary to activate it if the iPhone is being used, since I will see the notification on the screen, and the flash would not have to be activated.

In case we want to deactivate it again, because it is annoying in certain situations, especially at night, where it may seem strange that our iPhone starts flashing automatically, and other people believe that we are taking photos of them, we will only have to follow the same steps and uncheck the box. LED warnings.

And you, did you know this method? The truth is that it is very interesting, especially if you are in bed, watching a movie, and you don't want your iPhone to ring all the time. This way, if they call you or receive something important, the flash will illuminate the room and you will notice that you have something, without really distracting you from what you are seeing if you don't want to, and above all, without disturbing anyone else with the sound. It even works well as an alarm clock, since the light usually wakes me up (at least me).
