The least we can say is that Tesla’s Cybertruck is getting a lot of attention. Elon Musk spoke to us about this vehicle with a (very) angular design at length and breadth. It took several years for Tesla’s first electric pickup to hit the roads.
But the Cybertruck is far from unanimous. Fascinating, perhaps, it is also the target of mockery on social networks because of its exuberant, bulky and very geometric design and its particularly high price. In fact, many predicted that Elon Musk was heading straight into the wall with his Cybertruck. But according to data from Cox Automotive, it seems that Tesla’s electric pickup doesn’t just have enemies.
Surprising sales for the Tesla Cybertruck
Some took great pleasure in predicting the failure of the Tesla Cybertruck. But the U.S. sales figures speak for themselves. According to Cox Automotive, nearly 17,000 copies of Elon Musk’s first electric pickup have been sold in the United States during the third quarter of this year. To give you an idea, this makes the Tesla Cybertruck the third most popular electric vehicle in the United States during this period, the Tesla Model 3 and Y were in the lead.
Since the start of this year, Tesla has sold more than 28,000 Cybertrucks, which is more than Ford and its F-150 Lightning, Rivian’s R1T and Chevrolet’s electric Silverado. Considering the numerous criticisms and controversies since their release on the market, it’s not bad. If the Cybertruck sells, it sells. And it’s selling better than we expected! Remember, however, that Tesla’s electric pickup has a high price: between $60,990 and $99,990. In short, it stings. Especially since the new vehicle has already been the subject of five recalls in one year.

For the moment, Tesla’s Cybertruck is roaming American roads and is not allowed to put a wheel in Europe due to legislation. Considered a heavyweight in France (3.6 tonnes and 5.9 meters long, holy baby), it requires an additional license in our green lands.
