If there is a pair of headphones that is the center of attention at Apple, it is the AirPods Pro 2. After releasing a big update with several new features at the beginning of September, then two other corrective updates, Apple is preparing a new software version, this time with a necessary test by the developers!
A new beta deployed for developers
Apple deployed a new beta version of the firmware for its AirPods Pro 2 last night. This update, intended for developers, bears the version number 7B5013c. If you’re in the developer program, you can check if the update installed correctly by checking your iPhone settings, provided your AirPods Pro 2 are connected.
This update concerns both the Lightning and USB-C models of AirPods Pro 2. For the moment, Apple has not yet revealed the precise details of this version, but the fact that it is offered in advance- first to developers suggests that it could introduce new features and would therefore not be a simple corrective update.
You will have to wait a few weeks before this update is available to all AirPods Pro 2 users, a period necessary for developers to be able to test possible changes.
Since last month, AirPods Pro 2 have benefited from new features thanks to iOS 18. They can now offer spatial audio in certain compatible games, detect head gestures to respond “yes” or “no” when Siri tells you ask a question or even impressively isolate your voice in noisy environments.
