It is true that, during these years, we have seen updates, both new colors, and internal, enabling hidden functions through software such as the temperature and humidity sensor, however, not a new complete version of it, something we could now see.
In January, Mark Gurman of Bloomberg has already said that Apple planned to launch a new Homepod Mini towards the end of the yearsomething that seems that it will end up fulfilling, since, unlike the Homepod with screen, it does not seek a real improvement in Siri, but in other aspects that would already be in operation, so there is no reason for the delay.
According to Gurman, the next Homepod Mini will incorporate a Wi-Fi and Bluetooth chip developed by Apple. This new chip will be compatible with Wi-Fi 6E, which will allow faster connections and lower latency than the current model, which only admits Wi-Fi 4, so we could receive faster responses from Siri, as well as a lower electricity consumption (since there is still no battery version).
For now no more details have been leaked about new functions or changes, but it is quite likely to include improvements in sound quality and a more modern processor. The current HomePod Mini model uses the S5 chip, the same of the Apple Watch Series 5 launched in 2019. In addition, it is not ruled out that Apple incorporates the second -generation ultra wideband chip, released in the iPhone 15.
Anyway, it is time to wait, and hopefully we see it in a few weeks, next to a price that caught our attention, since it will be key to many users who expect it, because if they maintain the same cost as the current one, sales are secured, although uploading the price could create controversy, since it is not especially cheap to say.
