A few minutes ago, Apple unveiled its new MacBook Pro M4 models. To accompany them, and as for the iMac on Monday and the Mac mini on Tuesday, the firm published a 17-minute “keynote” type video on YouTube highlighting new features such as the M4, M4 Pro and M4 Max chips, anti-glare option as well as Thunderbolt 5 support for high-end configurations.
A long presentation
In what is supposed to be the final announcement of the week, Apple has updated its MacBook Pro lineup. The 2024 series includes an entry-level 14-inch MacBook Pro with the M4 chip, as well as more powerful 14- and 16-inch models powered by the M4 Pro and M4 Max.
For the first time, the standard MacBook Pro is available in a Space Black color option. Apple says the M4 chip delivers up to 1.3x faster performance than the previous M3 model and supports simultaneous output to two external displays.
High-end MacBook Pro M4 models equipped with the M4 Pro and M4 Max significantly improve performance and feature Thunderbolt 5 ports for ultra-fast data transfer. We are talking about a gain of up to two times in calculations compared to the previous generation and even up to seven times for Intel models. The most expensive models can handle up to 4 external displays and be equipped with 128 GB of RAM, for example.
17 minutes long, the video led by John Ternus (definitely) reviews the characteristics of the machine, but also and above all the use cases. Many software programs are reviewed, as well as upcoming games, without forgetting the unmissable Apple Intelligence. Tim Cook’s company has been pressing heavily on it for three days. The next Assassin’s Creed Shadows or the famous Cyberpunk 2077 are also officially planned.
