This year, Apple launched Apple Intelligence, a series of AI-powered features that improve the experience on compatible iPhones. But, unfortunately, not all the features presented by the firm at the WWDC conference in June were delivered with the iOS 18 update, which arrived in September.

The first Apple Intelligence features arrived later, via the iOS 18.1 update which arrived at the end of October. Furthermore, today, you cannot yet chat with ChatGPT via the Siri interface. In fact, this feature will only be available in December, via another operating system update.

And unfortunately, you may have to get used to this kind of staggered launch from the Cupertino company. In any case, this is what journalist Mark Gurman (Bloomberg) indicates in his latest newsletter. Instead of publishing a big annual update, Apple would now tend to release its new software little by little. Mark Gurman also indicates that according to his sources, many features planned for iOS 19 have already been postponed, and would not arrive until spring 2026, with the iOS 19.4 update.

The “LLM” version of Siri would be one of these postponed features

Recently, Mark Gurman published an article according to which Apple would develop a new version of Siri which would rely on the same technologies as ChatGPT or Gemini, in order to offer natural interactions, and to manage more complex requests. And in his newsletter, he explains that this improvement of Siri would be one of the features planned for iOS 19, but which would not arrive until 2025.

More specifically, the journalist believes that the improved version of Siri should be presented at the WWDC 2025 conference in June. However, its release would only be scheduled for spring 2026.

  • While it had announced lots of interesting new features during the WWDC conference in June, Apple did not launch all these new features with iOS 18 in September
  • Apple Intelligence arrived in October, and the ability to interact with ChatGPT through the Siri interface won’t be available until December
  • Unfortunately, according to journalist Mark Gurman, the firm will not abandon these practices in 2025
  • Some features planned for iOS 19 would not arrive until spring 2026, via the iOS 19.4 update
  • The improved version of Siri, based on major language models, would be one of these postponed new features
