Apple continues fine-tuning iOS 18.2 with the release of the third public betawhich arrives just a few hours after the latest developer beta. This version, intended for those who are part of the public beta program, is one of the last iterations before the arrival of the final version scheduled for December.

Small adjustments in beta 3 of iOS 18.2
Public beta 3 of iOS 18.2 corresponds to the same software as the previously released developer beta 4. Although it does not introduce significant changes, it does provide interesting adjustments:
- Accuracy in videos– The Photos app now includes a millisecond indicator in the video scroll bar, a major improvement for those who want to edit with greater precision.
- Unified camera and accessibility– Camera Control accessibility settings have been integrated into the overall camera settings panel, putting all options in one place.
- Default contactless payment app– Recently discovered, it is now possible to set a contactless payment app other than Wallet as the default from Settings > Apps.
- Aesthetic adjustments in Apple Mail– Small design changes make the user experience in the app more fluid.
In addition to these new features, this beta is clearly aimed at improve performance and correct errors. Apple seems to be polishing the last details before presenting the release candidate (RC) version, which could arrive in the first week of December.
With the usual pace of weekly releases, Apple could take a break due to the Thanksgiving holidays in the United States, leaving the next move for the week of December 2. If so, the RC version would be available before December 9the date on which the public release of iOS 18.2 is expected.

Although this public beta does not include major changes, the set of improvements in iOS 18.2 promises to be one of the most significant of the year. Notable new features include advances in artificial intelligence and creative tools:
- Genmoji– A feature that allows you to create custom emojis to use in any application.
- ChatGPT integrated into Siri: Siri can now access ChatGPT’s knowledge, allowing you to make direct queries with this AI.
- Image Playground– A tool that generates original images with styles such as animation, illustration or sketches.
- visual intelligence– Using the iPhone 16’s camera control, users will be able to get contextual information about the physical environment they photograph.
Beyond these new features, iOS 18.2 includes a Redesigned Mail appimprovements to the Search function, updates to Camera Control and many other optimizations.
