The Apple Music Classical app was updated today with support for CarPlay. Finally.
This new version will allow subscribers to access the application from the secondary screen of their vehicle when an iPhone is connected.
Updated 12/11 : The update is now available to everyone, with support for CarPlay and Siri, as well as stability and performance improvements.
Apple Music Classical comes to the car
Since its initial launch in March 2023, Apple Music Classical has enjoyed resounding success, providing access to a rich and varied repertoire of classical music. After being recently launched in several Asian countries, Classical and its 5 million songs are now available on CarPlay.
To enjoy it on CarPlay, make sure you have installed version 1.2 or higher. This update went virtually unnoticed since Apple developers only indicated “stability and performance improvements”. Please note, it seems that Apple has not yet activated the service on CarPlay, because, for the moment, the application crashes on launch.
What is Apple Music Classic?
As a reminder, Apple Music Classic offers high-resolution lossless audio access in Dolby Atmos, detailed metadata, including composer biographies and descriptions of works, as well as specific recommendations and even advanced search.
Apple Music Classical is available at no additional cost to all users with a standard Apple Music subscription. The application is available on iPhone, iPad and Android. It is based on Primephonic, a classical music streaming service purchased by Apple in August 2021.
