Apple has deployed the new version of visionOS, number 2.2, to its dear customers equipped with a Vision Pro. The build number is 22N840, it contains 5 main new features. The update is partly dependent on macOS 15.2, also available for a few moments.

Unsurprisingly, this follows the release of visionOS 2.1 in October.

Version 2.2 of visionOS brings two big new features: Wide and Ultra-wide options for the Mac virtual display and a Multiview mode for sports.

Mac Virtual Display

Apple Vision Pro’s Mac Virtual Display now supports expanded wide and ultra-wide modes, significantly improving the user’s ability to interact with their Mac in a spatial context. To do this, however, you will need to update the associated Mac to Sequoia 15.2.

Feature details:

  • Immersive Workspace: The update enables an experience where your Mac’s screen can extend around you, providing the visual equivalent of two 4K monitors placed side by side. This configuration provides exceptional clarity and detail for professional use.
  • Spatial continuity: imagine the feeling of working on two 4K screens without the physical constraints of having two separate screens; that’s exactly what visionOS 2.2’s ultra-wide mode offers. It streamlines multitasking on a Mac by providing a seamless, expansive visual workspace that transcends traditional screen limitations.
