With the arrival of the end of 2024, and seeing the new batch of products that Apple has presented this year, there are four devices that the Californian company has decided to leave off the shelves. However, it is not all bad news, as one of them will return in the coming months and will do it in a big way.
Among the products forgotten by Apple are the legendary SuperDrive, the criticized and controversial FineWoven iPhone cases, the PowerBeats Pro and the 9th generation iPad. However, regarding the latter it must be added that it will return next year with important improvements.
Apple says goodbye to four products
Last May, Apple decided not to renew its entry-level tablet, the iPad, despite being one of the brand’s most popular and affordable. At the same time they made this decision, they lowered the price of the 10th Generation iPad, leaving it as the only option for those looking for a cheaper alternative to the iPad Air and iPad Pro.
At first, this seemed like a move by Apple to simplify the firm’s tablet catalog and guide users towards a more modern and versatile model like the iPad Air, although with rumors that speak of the possible return by 2025 of the original iPad, this is called into question.
Regarding the FineWoven cases, it is worth highlighting their short term in Apple’s showcases, as they arrived in 2023 to replace the leather cases of the iPhone, offering an alternative more sustainable and elegant. However, their dubious quality soon caught on among users, delighting the most critical, who found their Achilles heel in their durability and aesthetic deterioration.
A year later they were withdrawn by Apple, leaving a gap that we still don’t know how Tim Cook’s guys plan to fill.
New iPad in 2024 and better PowerBeats Pro
Another of the products relegated to the background this year has been the PowerBeats Prosports headphones that were positioned as the alternative to AirPods. Launched almost six years ago, they were one of Apple’s first bets in the world of sports and music, with adjustable “hooks” that allowed a better fit to the ear, water resistance and up to nine hours of autonomy.
However, not everything is negative, since Apple has already announced that it is working to launch the second generation in 2025 of these PowerBeats Pro, with a more stylized and vertical design, in addition to other innovations such as heart rate monitoring, active noise cancellation, audio space or an adaptive audio system, according to the information.
Although Apple has momentarily discontinued this series of devices from Apple stores, closing a cycle in the company, it seeks to modernize its offer and adapt to the needs of today, with new products for 2025. Stay tuned to our networks social networks and website so you don’t miss anything.
