When purchasing an iPhone, Mac, or other Apple product, we have a plan called AppleCare+which offers you a 2-year insurance that covers any problem, from theft to an accidental fall, something that offers security to all those who have paid a lot of money for their new equipment.
However, many people hesitate to buy it, because the warranty is already 3 years old, and the price of this insurance is high, which would help you to change some component in case of accidental breakage, however, this insurance can be extended for a longer period of time, and not everyone knows this.
Extend your AppleCare+ for 5 years
It is true that, as the years go by, your device is worth less, and it is likely that after 4 years it will no longer even be worth paying for it, however, you have the option, although it will depend on 2 points, the first of them, that you are within one of the accepted countries, and second, that it will not be the same for a Mac as for an iPhone, for example, since in the first case, you will have to renew annually, while phones, or Apple Watches, could be renewed month by month.
Let’s look at these two points according to Apple:
- Available countries: In Germany, Australia, Austria, Canada, Denmark, SpainUnited States, Finland, France, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Norway, New Zealand, Netherlands, United Kingdom, Sweden and Switzerland
- If you’ve prepaid for an AppleCare+ plan for your iPhone, iPad, or Apple Watch, you may be able to purchase additional coverage that renews monthly or annually.
- If you’ve prepaid for an AppleCare+ plan for your Mac, you may be able to purchase additional coverage that renews annually.
Therefore, once the 2 years of your AppleCare+ have already been paid for, you will have 45 days to decide whether to renew or not. You will only have to access, fulfilling this requirement, mysupport.apple.com and select the desired plan. Depending on the device, it will have one cost or another, but the fact of being able to renew, month by month, your iPhone to always have it safe until the moment of sale or exchange, is a great option that not many people knew about.
It is true that we can do this with insurance outside Applebut, honestly, if the brand itself gives us the option to pay, on a monthly basis, for such insurance, the truth is that I wouldn’t think about it, since just 2 years may have passed without problems, you are thinking of buying a new model and selling that one, and just then it gets stolen or you drop it and it breaks completely, and for just a few euros, you would have continued with the insurance that you already paid for for 2 years without using it.
And you, are you one of those who has insurance for everything, or have you never purchased AppleCare+? I wasn’t sure, but knowing that it can be extended, things change, since I can guarantee myself an iPhone for life if I want, and without worrying about losing my money on a day of bad luck.
