When I first received my iPhone, the first thing I did was download Google Photosand many Apple users will think how right they would be if the device itself has iCloud, and although it only has 5 GB free, I have contracted more, so the reason is not its storage.

There is a very logical reason, and I am not talking about its functionalities either, since it is true that the interface and options of Google Photos may be better than that of the native iPhone app, however, that is not the point. If you are interested in knowing my reason, and it may prompt you to do so too, read on.

Download Google Photos on iPhone

First of all, one of the possible advantages of using Google Photos, although it is not mine, is the one we already mentioned, and that is that iCloud only offers 5 GB of free storage, shared with other services on the phone itself, so it is We would be very short if we want to have a copy of our photos and videos, while Google would give us 15 GBthat is, three times more.

However, putting this aside, there is a clearer reason why I couldn’t live without Google Photos, and that is simply its ability to save files to the cloud without having to store them on your phone. Apple does not allow you to have photos in iCloud if they are not in the gallery, so if you delete a photo from your phone you will lose it forever. With Google that doesn’t happen, and the typical images or videos that you want to have forever in the cloud, but you don’t want them to take up space on your phone or not be accessible through the gallery by anyone, can be stored in Google Photos independently.

This means that you can have your main photos in iCloudwith a cleaner gallery, without screenshots, videos received by WhatsApp, etc., but you will have the option to view them if you go to Google Photos, alternatively, easily and with an exclusive storage of 15 GB for these, although You can expand it if you wish.

Google Photos

And the day I bought my first iPhone, it was something that I missed, the separation of the cloud from the Gallery itself, something that Apple does not do, and you will have no way of save a photo without it being lost if you delete it from your PhotosTherefore, the only way is through Google Photos or by creating folders that you upload to your Files, something quite absurd.

And you, did you know this way to get a double copy of your multimedia files without losing them from your iPhone when deleting them? We don’t always want to have all those photos, but as collectors that we are, even though we never look at them again, we don’t want to lose them either, just in case, a just in case that never usually comes, but hey, there we have them. Leave us a comment if you also use it for the same thing.
