After announcing the end of The Simpsons: Tapped Out (named Springfield in France), a very popular city building game, EA is also preparing to decapitate other old, often less known mobile games. In total, Electronic Arts has listed nine games that will close their doors in early 2025.

EA cleans up

EA previously announced that The Simpsons would be shut down on January 24, 2025, and that the game was removed from platforms on October 31, 2024. Additionally, Rory McIlroy PGA Tour will be taken offline on January 16, 2025, making all of its features online unavailable. These two titles will therefore be joined in the cemetery by seven other mobile games.

Here is the complete list of EA games according to our friends at GameRant :

  • Rory McIlroy PGA Tour – January 16, 2025
  • The Simpsons: Tapped Out – January 24, 2025
  • Blood & Glory: Immortals (on Apple and Google) – January 29, 2025
  • Contract Killer: Sniper – January 29, 2025
  • Deer Hunter Classic – January 29, 2025
  • Dino Hunter: Deadly Shores – January 29, 2025
  • Eternity Warriors 4 – January 29, 2025
  • Frontline Commando 2 – January 29, 2025
  • Frontline Commando: D-Day – January 29, 2025

Although these seven games do not have the same popularity as The Simpsons: Tapped Outfans of these licenses are certainly not happy with this news. But it must be understood that the American studio pays servers and developers to maintain the different games on the platforms, in particular for reasons of compatibility with Apple and Google devices and operating systems.

Mobile is not the only one affected, since EA has also planned to soon close titles like FIFA 22which will go offline on November 4, and Battlefield 3 on November 7. On the same day, the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of Battlefield 4, Battlefield: Hardline And NBA Live 18 will also be closed.
