After months of waiting (unbearable for some), the Pokémon Pocket card game arrives on mobile, iOS and Android included. While you already know everything about the content of The Pokémon Company’s latest title, here are some tips and advice to get you off to a good start in the adventure.

What is Pokémon Pocket?

The Pokémon card mobile app allows players to collect and play anywhere. Every day, users can open two free Boosters, including classic cards and exclusive new ones. New immersive 3D maps offer a unique visual experience, while portfolios and frames allow everyone to display their collection. Relaxed combat is also available, in single player or multiplayer, at any time of the day.

Tips for Pokémon Pocket

First step: choose the right starter booster

Three starter packs are available: Mewtwo, Charizard and Pikachu. The Mewtwo pack, ideal for beginners, contains versatile cards like Gardevoir and Smogogo, useful in Psychic and defensive strategies. The Charizard pack offers powerful cards such as Noadkoko ex and effective supports like Erika. For competitors, the Pikachu pack allows you to create a Pikachu ex deck, which is currently one of the most successful. Obviously, seasoned players will know how to make the right choice.

Beginner missions: a great starting point

From the first hours of play, it is essential to concentrate on beginner missions. These missions offer booster hourglasses, a valuable resource allowing you to quickly open a dozen packages. Gaining levels by completing these missions also guarantees Poké Ingots and tickets to purchase other boosters, helping you enrich your card collection without spending a cent. And that is very precious.

Check back daily for free resources

By logging into Pokémon Pocket daily, you will gain access to regular rewards, including a daily gift pack and missions. These daily rewards will provide you with hourglasses and other resources to open new boosters. The Premium Pass, with a two-week free trial, also offers a significant resource bonus to strengthen your progress from the start.

Master the Miracle Pickaxe system

The Miracle Pickaxe adds a tactical dimension, allowing you to target specific cards without relying solely on luck. This mechanism gives you a one in five chance of obtaining a specific card, practical for completing a deck without exhausting your other resources.

Manage your Booster Points

Each opened booster replenishes you with Booster Points, which you can exchange for any card. Rather than spending them quickly, save them to acquire rare cards. With a cap of 2,500 points, the equivalent of 500 boosters, these points are a valuable resource to use wisely. Otherwise, the alternative is to put your hand in your wallet, via expensive in-app purchases. And there, it’s less funny.

Booster Poké Ingots and Hourglasses

To optimize your progress without wasting your resources, it is advisable to keep your Poké Ingots and Booster Hourglasses. The daily free boosters are enough to gradually enrich your collection, especially with the Premium Pass. By balancing the opening of boosters, the use of the Miracle Pickaxe and the exchange of Booster Points, you will ensure regular progress. Use your hourglasses and Poké Ingots only after completing Solo missions to maximize their effectiveness.

Collection challenges

Collection Challenges are simply what the name suggests. If you complete certain groups of Pokemon in a series, you will receive various rewards.

For example, if you complete the Eeveelutions in Genetic Apex, you will get the playmat with all the evolutions!
