One of the accessories that everyone acquires when it comes to launching their new iPhone is the screen protectoralong with a case for it, and thus have the perfect combo that prevents it from breaking on the first day of use, however, I do not really agree with this, and today I am going to explain the reason.
While it is true that it has its function, I think it is not as important as people think, and, at least in my case, I see more cons than benefits, although everything will depend on the way you use it, since a man who wears it in his pants will not be the same as a woman who usually puts it inside a bag with more things inside.
Why screen protectors are unnecessary
As I said, the first thing will be to know the needs of each one, and this type of protectors are designed to protect from scratches from the screen, not from falls, as many people believe. If, for example, you carry your iPhone in a bag, along with your keys, makeup and other products, this protector may save you from a scratch on your screen, something that will be unnecessary if you are like me and always carry it in your pants pocket with nothing next to it.
The material from which they are made is very fragile and cheap, which means that, in the event of a fall, it breaks, giving us the false feeling that it has protected the original screen and that thanks to it it has not broken, when this is not the case, and it does not offer any type of protection to it, except, as we said, from cracks or other defects caused by friction, so it could have prevented us from a scratch or hole in it, however, the majority of screen breaks are caused by a bad bump on the side or edge of the same, where there is no type of protectionat least for these products, and where the cover would be the main security element.
Therefore, in my case, and due to my type of use, I do not have a protector on the iPhone, since I think that the only thing it gives me is a worse vision of its screen, and, honestly, for the price I have paid for it, I like to take advantage of all its features, and most of them greatly limit its quality, brightness, reflections, etc.
And you, are you one of those who has a protector thinking that if it falls it will cushion the blow, or do you really know its function, which is not bad at all, but that many of us, due to the way we carry it, do not really need it, and after 3 years, my iPhone does not have a single mark, at least on the screen, where this type of protector should go, and which I do not use. Therefore, buy a good case, and enjoy it without a protector, since the price of the iPhone screen is not exactly cheap.
