After the release of Apple Intelligence, many of us who own an iPhone prior to those that were compatible considered the option of purchasing an iPhone 16 because we could use tools that ours do not allow, and that is something that can help.
However, there are 2 reasons why I will not buy the iPhone 16nor any of its variants, and I will wait for the iPhone 17 for this. Let’s see them in summary, and a general opinion on whether or not it is worth getting it at this time.
iPhone 16 or iPhone 17?
If we look at the iPhone 16, we do not see a relevant change with the iPhone 13, for example, except for small functions and changes that do not become so significant after 3 years, however, these do have Apple Intelligence, something that many we want to use. Because of this, I thought about getting one, but it passed me by for these two reasons.
- Incomplete Apple Intelligence: Currently, despite already having AI tools, Apple has not released everything promised, so we continue to receive, drop by drop, what we would like to have now, which means that, when we finally have it, we are close to another model, and we will have taken advantage of the iPhone 16 just enough. That, added to the fact that there are months left to have the Spanish language in Apple Intelligence, means that it is not worth buying a model today with so many updates waiting.
- Design improvements and major changes: Although a phone really is a phone, and we are not going to make it round, it is true that from one year to the next there are things that can differentiate the previous model from the new one, something that, for years, we have not seen, and it seems that buying An iPhone 16 Pro is simply formatting our iPhone 11 Pro and changing the operating system. However, it seems that the iPhone 17 is going to have interesting visual changes, in addition to a 120 Hz screen (finally) and improvements that really make this terminal something new for a price similar to the usual one, which will make it deserve more worth getting one.
Furthermore, as we were mentioning now, the price seems to not change, being very similar to every year, which makes it a better option than the iPhone 16 itself. Obviously, the last one will always be the best, and by that rule of thumb Three of us would never buy the current one, waiting for the next one, however, in this case, I think these two reasons justify it.
It is expected a iPhone 17 Airwhich would also be a novelty and would give many people an option different from other years, with a thinner and lighter design, although we still have to see the battery and other features, since it is still not as good a choice as we think.
For now we have to wait, but for my part I am clear that I will not get the iPhone 16 today, and the next iPhone 17 will be the ideal one, in my case. And you, what do you think of this?
