As the forecast indicated, iOS 18.1RC It would have been officially released for anyone who wants to try it, 1 week before the public version, which will be the same as this one. We must remember that we are talking about a beta, and although most of the time it does not undergo changes with what other people will have, it must be taken as such, with its possible risks and errors.

To install it right now you would have to have a developer profileas for the rest of the betas, and simply look for the update in settings, managing to install it a few days before the rest of the users, thus being the first to try it, but also suffering from any errors it may have (despite the fact that it is version should not contain them).

iOS 18.1 final beta: do I install it?

First of all, to assess whether it is advisable to install the final version or not, you will have to know if your iPhone is compatible with it, or rather with the majority of the functions it comes with. And it is that both iOS 18.1 and iOS 18.2 will be focused on Apple Intelligencewhich means that only owners of an iPhone 15 Pro or higher will be able to enjoy them, with very few new features for the rest of the devices.

In the same way, if we live in the European Union, for example, we will not have any new functions related to AI either, so it will be the same as having an iPhone 13, and, therefore, risking trying a system that barely gives us nothing, it is something absurd, and, as a recommendation, we would tell you to wait for it to be released for everyone, and even for many people to try it first, because you never know if it may have some unknown problem.

Everything indicates that the official version that everyone can have, it will be out next Monday October 28so, barring problems in the RC that delay this, Apple would have fulfilled its purpose of releasing the first important Apple Intelligence news in October, despite it being practically the last day of the month.

Remember that Apple does not accept devices under warranty with betas, and it will be your responsibility to install it, so we never recommend that it be on new devices, much less that it be the one you use daily, as you could suffer serious problems. A few days ago many Apple Watches were frozen due to one of these betas, and today they have no solution, so if I were you I wouldn’t risk it, or at least I would wait to see that many people don’t report problems.

iOS 18.1

And you, are you one of those who install the betas as soon as they come out, or do you prefer not to risk it and wait to see the opinions of the bravest ones? For my part, I usually wait, although if I see interesting things, I end up installing it like the rest, despite even doing it on my main device. Leave us a comment if you have installed RC and what you think of its new features (if you can try them).
