After the RC launched yesterday iOS 18.2both developers and users signed up for the public beta have been able to download this version and try it for the first time, which, if no errors are detected, will be the one we will see for everyone shortly.
And, as a general rule, except for bugs or major problems, this is usually released 7 days before the public and stable version for everyone, so it may be on Monday December 16 We already have all the functions of iOS 18.2 on our iPhone, but what does it bring?
iOS 18.2: December 16
The first thing to keep in mind is that not all the new features can be used on any iPhone, since it will depend on two key points. The first of them, the model of the same, since Apple Intelligence only works on iPhone 15 Pro or higherso those that correspond to AI cannot be executed on an iPhone 14 Pro, for example, no matter how much the version is accepted.
On the other hand, if you belong to the European Union or Chinayou still won’t be able to access them, even if you do have a compatible model. That is, even though your iPhone has them, they cannot be executed, at least until the first quarter of next year.
Now, if you do not have any of these restrictions, you will enjoy the following new features:
- Visual Intelligence: Now you can use the iPhone 16 camera to discover more about what’s around you, as a tool to learn about the world around you.
- Grades: With this app, you can turn your sketches into “amazing images” and create illustrations that adapt to the content of your note.
- Image Gallery: Generate “eye-catching images in seconds” simply by typing, and choose between two styles: Animation or Illustration.
- Genmoji: Design your own custom emojis based on text descriptions, something we’ve all been waiting for since its announcement in June.
- Siri and ChatGPT: In iOS 18.2, you can now log in to ChatGPT directly from Siri, making the experience much simpler and more integrated.
- Writing Tools: There are new options for you to create buttons and write about specific topics. Plus, you can now use the “Describe Your Change” feature to further refine your texts.
If you do not have the requirements for Apple Intelligence, you will hardly notice any changes, so, although it is advisable to update for security reasons and small improvements, you will not have the same hype as everyone who will be able to try this first-hand.
For now we have to wait, and if nothing strange happens, in less than 7 days we will be able to see all this publicly, being from today something easy to find in videos because many people are already installing it with its beta versions, since this RC does not usually have many bugs, and although it is not recommended to do it on our main iPhone, we can try it on others. And you, are you looking forward to any specific function? Leave us a comment with it and if you have already been able to try it or are you one of those who are waiting for the public.
