Apple should soon add an option to know the remaining charging time on iPhone. An option that already exists on Mac that we would all like to have at hand on our iPhone.
Even more information on the iPhone battery
Our colleagues from 9TB5Mac indicate that they have discovered a new feature in the code of beta 2 of iOS 18.2. This feature is new since it would allow for the very first time to have access to the remaining charging time when the iPhone is plugged into the mains.
We don’t yet know its exact location, but it could well be that a notification on the home screen displays the time remaining to reach the maximum charge predefined by the user in the iPhone settings. An option long awaited by many customers.
As the functionality is currently disabled, it is difficult to know its launch date. Apple is still working on it and it could only arrive on iOS 19, although we remain hopeful for a release on iOS 18. Why not iOS 18.2 in December?
Against iPhone heating and battery aging
Apple is taking the topic of battery very seriously these days. It recently added several options to preserve iPhone battery. For example, you can select the maximum authorized charge between 80% and 100% or even have an indicator when the charger is not suitable for optimal charging and is considered “slow”.
