If your iPhone is already a few years old, you will have noticed how despite taking care of the battery it no longer lasts as long, and it is normal, however, the change of this round is 100 eurosalthough it depends on the model, and that means that many times, especially if we are thinking about changing phones, we do not decide to replace it, holding out as long as possible with the one we have, or looking for cheaper alternatives.
In my case, and already thinking about the next iPhone, I decided to buy a replacement on Amazon, without being original, for only 20 euros, and with the necessary tools to do it myself (which is quite easy if you do it with patience), however, has it been worth it, or have I wasted the money?
Original battery vs replica
Whatever your iPhone is, you can find non-original batteries on Amazon and other stores, even if we go to a physical one that fixes phones, they will offer it to us, for a price (including installation) much lower than the 100 euros that Apple asks for it.
When it comes to getting one, we can choose different brands, and the quality most likely depends on it, although in my case I opted for an economical one, which it cost me 20 euros and it was installed the next day, although not everything is so pretty, and now we will see why.
Once the process was completed, the phone now had a new 100% battery, although this is relative, and in practice, that percentage of useful life cannot be compared with the original, since although it is true that it was at maximum health, this was even worse than the original at 80%, and although in the first 2 or 3 charges it did seem that it lasted longer, after a few days I realized that it did not.
This may be due to another factor, which is that it gets very hotand when I say a lot, it is a lot, so its autonomy could be drastically reduced due to it, something that may not happen in winter, but now it does, and it finally means that this one is lasting less than the previous Apple one at 80%.
That is to say, I have paid 20 euros to have a supposed new battery that is worse than the old onewhich leads us to deduce, very clearly, that it is not worth purchasing something at a low cost, since as they always say, “cheap is expensive”, and now I have simply lost 20 euros, having to reinstall the old battery, which gave me better performance, did not get as hot, and the phone felt even smoother.
And you, have you ever purchased a battery from another place that is not an official supplier? How did it go? Would you do it again? Leave us a comment with your experience, at least you already know mine, although there may be some contrary ones, however, I will not do it again, and I will pay what Apple asks of me, at least I know that I will have an iPhone for another few years, not for a week, as has happened to me now.
